Donut Muffins
1/3 C shortening, softened
1 C sugar
1 egg
1-1/2 C sifted flour
1-1/2 t baking powder
½ t salt
¼ t nutmeg
½ C milk
6 T melted butter
1 t cinnamon
½ C sugar
Cream shortening and sugar, add egg, beat well. Mix and sift
flour, powder, salt and nutmeg. Add alternately with milk and egg
mixture. Fill greased or lined muffin pans 2/3 full. Bake in 350
degree oven 20-30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans.
Dip in melted butter, then mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Makes 12 med or
18 small or 36 tea muffins. Bake tea size only about 12-15 minutes and
fill cups only ½ full.
