Apple Sauce

8 McIntosh, Granny Smith or other tart apple, peeled, cored and sliced

½ C sugar

1 C water

Mix sugar and water in large saucepan, add apples and bring to boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and keep stirring until apples are mushy. Mix with potato masher until desired consistency.
