Betty’s overnight French Toast

 

1      loaf French bread

8      large eggs

3-1/2         C milk

˝     C sugar

1      t vanilla

1      can apple filling

 

Topping:

3      t cinnamon

1      t nutmeg

˝     C sugar

 

        Slice bread into 1-1/2” slices, place in greased 9” x 13” pan.  Beat eggs, milk sugar and vanilla.  Pour half evenly over bread.  Spread apple filling over bread, then remainder of egg mixture.  Mix topping ingredients together and sprinkle over top.  Dot with 2 T butter, cover and refrigerate over night.  Bake @ 350 degrees for 1-1/2 hours uncovered.  Allow to set 10 minutes before cutting.
