1 box Duncan Hines chocolate or Devil’s food cake mix
1 can cherry pie filling
1 T almond extract
1 med. Cool Whip, defrosted
Mix and bake cake mix according to directions on package and bake in two round cake pans. Cool and remove one layer and place on serving plate. Place Cool Whip around edge of first layer by dropping in separate teaspoonfuls. Mix almond extract with cherry pie filling. Pour half of pie filling in middle of Cool Whip ring. Remove last layer and place on top of first layer. Place Cool Whip around edge of top lay by dropping in separate teaspoonfuls. Pour last half of pie filling in center. Refrigerate until serving time.
